Background
Haden grew up in a musical family, hearing her father's Southeast Asian opera, her mother's Celtic traditional ballads, Western classical music, and the music of the church. At the age of eight, she sang at Carnegie Hall with a children's choir, and she has maintained her love of choral music.
As a teenager, Josepha acted and sang in musical theater, going on to study vocal performance and conducting with Janice Yoes, Stacy Uthe and Arnold Epley. While she sings gospel, jazz, and classical pieces in public and private performances, Haden also leads children's and adult choirs, serving as Music Minister at First Presbyterian Church in Liberty, Missouri.
This range of influences gives Haden a broad repertoire, a deep understanding, and an ability to communicate through her music. While as a classical singer she particularly enjoys singing madrigals, opera, and chamber music, Haden is just as comfortable singing jazz at private parties or sacred songs at weddings.
